Background experience

I have worked in the NHS since 2014 across inpatient, outpatient and community settings, including mental health, neuropsychology and forensic work. I have trained to work with a range of clinical and mental health conditions across the life span and my current NHS role is lead Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist in an outpatient neuropsychology service. I specialise in epilepsy, non-epileptic seizures and functional neurological disorders, yet work with a variety of neurological disorders and acquired brain injury. I also have a keen interest in neurodegenerative conditions and using a formulation approach to understanding and working with dementia.

I work directly with individuals and clinical groups, but also regularly work systematically with partners, families and care teams. My work involves formal cognitive assessment and neuro rehabilitation, as well as psychological assessment and therapeutic intervention. I tailor my formulation and intervention approach to individual needs, using neuropsychological and cognitive models, compassion focused and schema therapy approaches.  I have undertaken capacity assessments and have provided consultation and supervision to trainees and MDT members. I am a keen researcher and am involved with teaching the North West doctorate courses in the area of non-epileptic attack disorder.
