Dr Samantha Wong

Background experience

I have been working in the field of Neuropsychology since 2007. I specialise in the assessment of acquired brain injury and neurological disorders. This includes administering and interpreting a wide range of neuropsychological assessments, conducting mental capacity and risk assessments, and providing comprehensive reports to help inform treatment decisions and rehabilitation needs. I have extensive experience with providing therapy for anxiety and mood disorders, using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approaches.  I also provide neurorehabilitation and psychological support to help people adjust to changes in personality, cognitive and physical abilities, mood and behaviour.

In my current NHS role, I provide outpatient clinics for patients with a range of neurological conditions, such as multiple sclerosis, encephalitis, epilepsy, etc. I am the neuropsychology service lead for pituitary tumours and work closely with the multidisciplinary team.  I am actively involved with the Greater Manchester Cancer (GMC) programme and I am a member of the Brain and CNS Pathway Board and the Psycho-oncology Pathway Board.
